GOING INTO HIS WSU unofficial visit, offensive lineman Noah Myers had a lot of questions on his mind…
BREAKING: Three-star OL goes crimson
"I just called Coach McGuire over at WSU and I committed," Myers said. "When I took my unofficial visit over there two weeks ago, I arrived and I just even loved the air out there. It's a lot crisper and cleaner than here in the Bay. Everyone seemed really friendly and it just feels like a place I can thrive."
The 6-foot-5 Myers actually lost weight this offseason -- and still checks in at an athletic 300 pounds.
"They loved my tenacity and could tell from my film that I love the game. And they loved that I lost 25 pounds and changed my body (to improve) how I can play the game of football. They love that I'll do anything I can at the next level," said Myers.
Myers, it sounds, made McGuire's day on Saturday.
"He loved it," said Myers. "I had messaged him on Twitter asking him if he could talk and he was hoping that (verbal commitment) was what I wanted to talk about. He was ecstatic, he was excited and he couldn't wait to tell the other coaches."
Myers was seeing interest across the Pac-12 though WSU was the only conference school that put a scholie on the table. Myers said he's looking forward to his official visit later this fall and hopes his parents can come along to meet Mike Leach, McGuire and the rest of the staff.
"I'm almost positive WSU is recruiting me as a guard but I can play both guard and tackle. I'll come in that first year and they can evaluate and put me where they want me," said McGuire.
CF.C is working on getting our hands on some camp film on Myers this summer. Stay tuned for that in the near future.
Myers is the 12th known verbal commitment in WSU's 2015 class, joining K, Matt Abramo, OG Cedric Bigge-Duran, WR Dominic Davis, WR Deontay Burnett, CB Darrien Molton, LB Aaron Porter, RB James Williams, S Kameron Powell, QB Tyler Hilinski, CB Austin Joyner and DT Thomas Toki.
