Jed Collins Profile
Former Washington State tight end/fullback Jed Collins was signed to the Arizona Cardinals practice squad, the team announced today.
Collins survived until the final round of cuts by Kansas City just before the 2009 campaign. He was signed as a free agent by Philadelphia following a stellar collegiate career at Ol’ Wazzu and spent the first seven weeks of the 2008 campaign on the Eagles practice squad. He spent the remainder of the season on Chicago’s practice squad (four weeks), followed by five weeks with Cleveland, both on their practice squad and active roster..
At WSU, Collins was a second-team All-Pac-10 selection for the Cougars in 2007. He had 52 receptions, setting the single-season record for a Wazzu tight end.
Used primarily as a tight end at WSU, "Jedzilla" was projected as a fullback by NFL scouts and was assigned that position by the Eagles, Bears, and Browns.
Collins's career at WSU began as a true freshman, when he became a fan favorite as a linebacker, tight-end, fullback, and special teams standout.
