| Biography: |
| A highly talented back whose first two collegiate years were marred by injury. Played in five games as a true freshman in 2001 before going down for the season with a knee injury at Stanford after making his first start. Finished year with 161 yards. Was fully recovered early in the 2002 campaign and then dinged shoulder on his very first carry of the season (vs. USC) and was lost for the year.
Attended Sweetwater High, where he was a running back and defensive back. Also a track star. As a junior was named all-conference and all-academic first team at running back. Rushed for over 1,200 yards and 10 touchdowns. As a senior, earning first-team all-conference honors at RB (1,400 yards, 14 TDs) and second-team plaudits on defense, he was named league player of the year.
