| Forced into action as true freshman in 2001 due to injuries in LB corps. Made 11 tackles in spot duty. Started much of 2002 season, posting 44 tackles. Attended Forks High, where he starred at running back, linebacker and returned kicks. First-team all-league three straight years. League's offensive player of the year as a junior and the state's class 2A player of the year as a senior. Unanimous all-state pick as a running back. Honored by faces in the crowd in Sports Illustrated, rushing for 2,448 yards, scoring 30 touchdowns and posting 148 tackles. |
