| Biography: |
In his third stint at Washington State, Ball is the Cougars' co-defensive coordinator, assistant head coach and secondary coach. From 2000-02 under his tutelage at Wazzu, Ball mentored CougGreats Lamont Thompson, Jason David, Marcus Trufant and Erik Coleman, all of whom went on to the NFL. WSU's defense compiled 56 interceptions over that span, including 26 during the 2001 campaign, which tied for second nationally.
Ball previously served as a graduate assistant coach under Mike Price in 1989 before his three seasons as WSU's secondary coach from 2000-02.
Ball's coaching stops since then included Pittsburgh, where his Panthers ranked fourth nationally in pass defense and seventh in total defense in '07, and Alabama, where his '04 secondary led the nation in pass defense and ranked second in pass efficiency defense.
Ball and wife Tandi have a son, Brennan (14) and daughter Abigail (3).
