| Biography: |
How Acquired: The Vikings claimed Eric Frampton when the Detroit Lions waived him on Oct. 22, 2007. The Oakland Raiders originally selected the Washington State safety in the fifth round of the 2007 NFL Draft. The Lions claimed him when he was released by the Raiders in their final roster cutdown.
Future Contract Status
2007: Played in nine games with the Vikings but still ranked fourth on the team with 14 special teams tackles. Finished the season with 20 special teams tackles when combined with his previous work at Detroit. Did not record any defensive statistics.
College: Two-year starter awarded All-Conference honors as a senior after
totaling 100/5/8. Led the Cougars defense in tackles with 87 (52 solo) as a junior in 2005 and added 5.5 tackles-for-loss, a sack, an interception, eight pass break-ups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. Received the team Ironman Award in 2004 and then followed it up with a standout performance throughout '05 spring drills.
High School: Despite missing five games with a broken collarbone, still racked up 30 tackles in five games for San Jose's Oak Grove High on the way to being named to the Western 100 by The Tacoma News Tribune. As a junior, rushed for 17 TDs and was an all-league pick.
