In 2006, racked up 66 tackles, 11 for loss, three sacks, five pass break ups and three forced fumbles. On offense, he had seven catches for 70 yards plus a pair of 2-point conversions. He earned second-team All-GSL honors as Mead went 5-5.
In the '07 season opener for Mead, Spitz played only the first half but had four receptions for 72 yards and three touchdowns, along with eight tackles and a fumble recovery. Through five games this season, Spitz had appx. nine tackles for loss among 40 tackles plus five blocked passes. On offense, the tight end has 120 yards on but six passes with five of those six going for touchdowns.
Strength numbers as of September '07 include a power clean of 315 pounds, squat of 525 and bench press of 285.
Spitz has achieved a qualifying score on the SAT but wasn't satisfied with the mark and plans on bettering it later this year.
