| From Auckland, New Zealand. A four-year starter at Westlake Boys' High School, where he served as team captain. Led team to first place at the New Zealand High School Nationals his senior season. Averaged 20.5 points, 11 rebounds and 2.8 steals per game. Named New Zealand Academy of Sport High Performance Player of the year two seasons in a row. Chose WSU over Indiana and others. The coach of his junior national team describes him as "a finesse player with outstanding leaping ability .... If he would get some aggressiveness, he would be an outstanding player. As far as talent, he can play with anybody."
