In 16 games, Pawelek logged 201 tackles with 15 tackles for loss. The linebacker forced 7 fumbles, blocked 3 kicks, recovered 6 fumbles and had an interception.
Smithson Valley coach Larry Hill calls him "clearly one of the premier players in Texas." Voted first-team All-State and Class 5A defensive player of the year.
