| A walk on in the fall of 2001, he earned a scholarship after winning the starting punter's role just before the 2002 campaign. Showed off a booming leg, averaging 41.1 yards per kick and killing 15 balls inside the opponent's 20 yards line during Cougars' championship season. Followed up in 2003 with a banner year, averaging 42 yards per kick and killing 26 balls inside the opponent's 20 -- five of them in the Holiday Bowl vs. Texas. Was on the watch list for the Ray Guy Award and earned honorable mentiona ll-league honors. Figures to contend for All-America honors in 2004.
Had a star-studed, multi-sport prep career. Numerous honors, including All-State punter three successive years. |
