Thames will ask for release, says dad

XAVIER THAMES		By HOWIE STALWICK Cougfan.com Correspondent Date: Mar 31, 2009 LESS THAN 24 hours after Tony Bennett decided to leave Washington State for Virginia, one of the school's incoming freshmen is also talking about leaving. Xavier Thames, a potential starting point guard at Washington State next season, will ask to be released from his national letter of intent to WSU, Thames' father said Tuesday.
