THE PRACTICE OF extending the early scholarship offer in college football is more art than science. Nonetheless, offering top prospects, and doing so before their senior season, has been the standard since the early 90s courtesy of Joe Paterno. So it's probably no surprise that 22 days after Signing Day 2006, Washington State already has a number of known offers on the table for the class of 2007.
