WASHINGTON STATE coach Paul Wulff announced this morning that one of his receivers is unlikely to play in the opener this Saturday due to injury.

True freshman Kristoff Williams is unlikely to play in Saturday's season opener at Oklahoma State, said Paul Wulff.

Williams remains one of the incoming freshmen he targeted for playing time this season, but that will be dictated by his recovery from turf toe.

Wulff said another Coug coming off injury will play -- sophomore wide receiver Gino Simone -- and he remains hopeful that sophomore fullback Jared Byers, redshirt freshman cornerback Nolan Washington and junior cornerback Aire Justin also will be able to play.

We'll have more in a full report later today.
