Photo Exclusive: WSU's newest QB in action

QUARTERBACK Cody Clements, a Washington State verbal commit for the 2011 recruiting class, attracted a ton of attention earlier this month at the “Battle of the Beach” passing tournament in Orange County. He also caught the eye of the camera. Here’s an exclusive, 10-shot photo essay of Clements in action at the 7-on-7 tourney, where he led his La Habra High team to victory.

The "Battle of the Beach" featured some of the top prep quarterbacks in southern California, including Max Wittek, Michael Eubank and Trevor Gretzy. In addition to leading his team to the title, Clements earned praise from Dan Albano of the Orange County Register who pegged him the No. 1 QB there. Albano cited Clements' quick release and ability to make a wide array of throws.

As a junior in 2009, Clements (6-1 ½, 190) led La Habra to the CIF SS title as he completed 120-of-191 passes for 2,150 yards, 29 TDs and 5 INTs.
