EARLIER THIS WEEK, a quarterback prospect out of California -- one who led his team to the CIF-SS title as a junior -- took an unofficial visit to Washington State. He already had an offer from Wazzu in hand. And it didn't take long, after his time on the Palouse with the Washington State coaching staff, for him to go crimson.

"I committed," said Cody Clements (6-1.5, 190, 4.8). "I've definitely visited a lot of schools, saw a lot of campuses. My dad had told me when I find the right place, I would know it. When I went to WSU, I felt like that was where I wanted to be, the coaches there are guys I want coaching me...The QB situation is perfect, they only have three (on scholarship) so I'd have a great chance to play...
