NFL Cougar Highlights: Week 14

Tyron Brackenridge

FORMER COUGAR DEFENSIVE back Tyron Brackenridge has made the most of the starting opportunity presented by the injury to Jacksonville corner Rashean Mathis. Brackenridge led all Jag defenders with nine solo tackles and forced a pair of fumbles in their 14-10 fall to Miami on Sunday.

Since taking over the starting role, the Wazzu alum has posted 21 stops in four games, earning rave reviews from his Jaguar coaching and teammates.

Here's how all of the NFL Cougars performed in week 14 :

Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, 2nd season: No stats from Vikings win against Cincinnati.

Tyron Brackenridge, CB, Jacksonville, 3rd season: Posted nine solo tackles and forced two fumbles in Jags loss to Miami.

Erik Coleman, S, Atlanta, 6th season: Recorded five tackles (3 solo) in Falcons three point loss to New Orleans.

Jed Collins, FB, Cleveland, 2nd season :Did not play; assigned to the Browns' practice squad.

Devard Darling, WR, Kansas City, 6th season: Did not play; out for the season with a knee injury.

Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 3rd season: Posted one special teams tackle in Vikings defeat of Cincy.

Devin Frischknecht, TE, Green Bay, rookie : Did not play; on injured reserve (knee).

Brandon Gibson, WR, St. Louis, rookie: Led all Rams receivers with six catches for 43 yards in 47-7 loss to Tennessee.

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 18th season: Missed a 45 yard field goal try, but connected on a 22 yarder in Lions 48-3 loss to Baltimore. All six of Hanson's misses this season have been from 45 yards or longer.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland, 4th season: The Ghost got the starting nod for the Browns Thursday upset of Pittsburgh, but managed just nine rushing yards on 7 carries. Good news: he caught one-third of Cleveland passes. Bad news: the Browns completed just 6 passes. His two grabs accounted for 10 yards.

Jason Hill, WR, San Francisco, 3rd season: Caught one pass for 10 yards and recorded a special teams tackle in the 49ers Monday night win against Arizona.

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 10th season: Was true on three of 4 field goal attempts (long of 41) and a PAT in Bills win against Kansas City.

Rob Meier, DE/DT, Jacksonville, 10th season: Did not play; out for the season with a shoulder injury.

Karl Paymah, CB, Minnesota, 5th season: Declared inactive with a bum knee in Vikings defeat against the Bengals.

Ropati Pitoitua, DE, New York Jets, 1st year: Declared a healthy scratch for Jets win against Tampa Bay.

Marcus Trufant, DB, Seattle, 7th season: Led the Hawks with nine tackles (8 solo) and one interception in loss to Houston.
