THE LATEST DEPTH CHART is hot off the presses. Many of the starting battles were won over the course of fall camp and have been previously reported. But there's still plenty of intrigue -- a junior makes his long awaited debut on the d-line. Two true frosh are in the starting lineup. A senior gets the start at WIL, and more.
Four players who sat out at WSU last year are listed as starters -- three are fourth year juniors and one is a third year sophomore.
DT
Bernard Wolfgramm
will make his crimson debut after redshirting his first year at WSU.
So too will
Brandon Jones
, who sat out last season following a transfer from Cal.
Meanwhile on the offensive line,
Zack Williams
gets the start at left guard after a redshirt year.
The sophomore of the group,
Alex Hoffman-Ellis
, is the starting middle linebacker following a redshirt season.
Two true freshmen -- DE
Travis Long
and WR
Gino Simone
-- cracked the starting lineup.
Receiver could end up being deep this season when it's all said and done --
Jeshua Anderson, Daniel Blackledge
and
Jeffrey Solomon
are listed at the 2's headed into Stanford. All three missed time with injury during camp but all were back out running full speed late last week.
Jason Stripling
gets the nod at the weakside 'backer spot. With
Louis Bland
continuing on the mend a good portion of fall camp, and getting some first team reps in recently, Stripling has had a solid August.
Aire Justin
looks to have made some gains of late, he's listed as an either/or with starter
Daniel Simmons
at right cornerback.
With the development at corner and with Jones now projected to be healed up for Stanford,
Chima Nwachukwu
is listed back at his original position -- strong safety.
QB
Kevin Lopina
will get the start, he is listed as an either/or with
Marshall Lobbestael
.
Running back is deep.
Dwight Tardy
is the No. 1 RB, with
James Montgomery
and
Logwone Mitz
also expected to get turns.
