MORE BREAKING: Wulff lands Colorado 'backer

6-2, 215-POUNDER WITH 4.5 SPEED GOES CRIMSON

SURE, HE RACKED up the ground yardage this season. In one game alone, he rushed for 399 yards. On the season, he punished defenses to the tune of 1,300-yards plus hashes -- but he sought out contact in doing it. He has 4.5 speed, and his affinity for the hitting part of the game is one reason why he'll be coming to Washington State as a linebacker.

Terrel Thompson (6-2, 215, 4.5) out of Aurora, Colo. will ink his Letter of Intent tomorrow morning. Where's he going?

"Washington State," said Thompson, who visited Pullman this past weekend. "It was a friendly town and I like the way they coach."

A physical, explosive fullback with speed, Thompson pounded out 1,368 ground yards with 18 touchdowns this season in Eaglecrest's modified wing-offense.

But he'll come to Washington State as a tackle-with-your-face linebacker.

"They liked my hard work and, well, just the way I hit people," said Thompson, who did most of his hitting on offense. As one of the top offensive 5A yardage makers in Colorado, he played sparingly on D his senior year.

Thompson drew interest from Cal, K-State and others this recruiting season and was named first team all-league at running back his senior campaign.

In one game this season, he rushed for 399 yards and six touchdowns.
