WITH JUST THREE former Washington State greats—Atlanta’s Erik Coleman and Minnesota’s Husain Abdullah and Eric Frampton—advancing to the NFL playoffs, the final regular season weekend ended uneventfully for most Cougar alums. Not true for San Fran’s Jason Hill, however, as he punctuated his stellar sophomore season in grand fashion.

Here’s how all of the NFL Cougars performed in week seventeen, including their 2008 season stat totals:

Hamza Abdullah, S, Cleveland, 4th season :Declared a healthy scratch for the Browns’ loss to Pittsburgh. Recorded one solo tackle (while with Denver) on the year.

Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, rookie: Assisted on one special teams tackle in Vikings’ victory against the Giants. Totaled 20 tackles (14 solo) on the season.

Erik Coleman, S, Atlanta, 5th season : Notched eight solo tackles in victory against St. Louis. The Spokane native picked off 3 passes, forced two fumbles, defensed 6 passes, and made 95 tackles (80 solo) for the Falcons in 2008.

Jed Collins, TE/FB, Cleveland, rookie: Did not play; reassigned to Browns’ practice squad. No recorded stats on the year.

Devard Darling, WR, Kansas City, 5th season : Caught two passes for 14 yards in Chiefs’ loss to Cincinnati. For the season, Darling made 17 catches for 247 yards and 1 touchdown. Also posted 8 special teams tackles (7 solo).

Jason David, CB, New Orleans, 5th season: Posted three solo stops in loss to Carolina. Finished the season with 5 interceptions (tied for third best in the NFL), 10 pass defenses, 21 solo tackles, and 2 assists.

Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 2nd season : Posted one solo special teams stop in Vikings’ win against the Giants. For his sophomore campaign, Frampton tallied 12 tackles (11 solo).

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 17th season : Was true on all three extra point attempts in Lions’ record-setting 16th loss of the season. The Spokane native connected on 25 of 26 PATs and 21 of 22 field goal attempts (95.5 percent—best in the NFL), including a record 8 field goals from 50 yards or beyond. Also contributed two special teams tackles. Hanson continued his climb to the top of several all-time NFL kicking categories.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland, 3rd season : Ran the ball twice for 1 yard and caught 2 for minus-one yard in loss to Pittsburgh. The Ghost rushed for 246 yards on 34 touches (7.2 ypg avg.) with 1 touchdown, and caught 12 passes for 116 yards and 1 touchdown on the season. Also contributed 5 special teams tackles (4 solo).

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 9th season : Missed one 47-yard field goal in the gusting wind of Foxsboro Stadium in Bills’ loss to New England. The Vancouver native connected on 30 of 38 3-pointers in ’08, as well as all 34 of his PATS (he still has yet to miss one in his 9 pro years). Also added 4 special teams tackles.

Rob Meier, DE/DT, Jacksonville, 9th season: Recorded three tackles and assisted on another in Jags’ loss to Baltimore. On the year, he tallied 30 tackles (26 solo) including 2 sacks.
