FUTURE COUGAR Arthur Burns rushed for two touchdowns in a 21-16 victory in the California Interscholastic Federation (CIF) Division I state championship bowl game on Friday night.

Arthur Burns rushed for 85 yards on 25 carries and scored twice, including the game-winner from two-yards out with 4:30 to play, to put Centennial up for good at 21-14 against perennial powerhouse De La Salle.

Burns and Centennial completed a perfect 15-0 season with the win. Headed into the game, Burns and his Centennial teammates were ranked the No. 2 team in the nation in USA Today's Super 25, with De La Salle ranked No. 16.

Burns is the third future Cougar to capture a state title, with Jamal Atofau and Bellevue taking the state of Washington 3A title and Gino Simone, a soft verbal commit to WSU, and Skyline taking the 4A crown.
