IT WAS A bittersweet Monday Night Football match up for Washington State fans. On the one hand,…
NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Thirteen
Hamza Abdullah, S, Cleveland, 4th season :Declared inactive for Browns' loss to the Counterfeit Colts.
Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, rookie: Posted one solo tackle in Vikings' victory against Chicago.
Alex Brink, QB, Houston, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the Texans' practice squad.
Mkristo Bruce, DE, Jacksonville, 2nd season: Did not play; assigned to the Jaguars' practice squad.
Michael Bumpus, WR, Seattle, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the Seahawks' practice squad.
Erik Coleman, S, Atlanta, 5th season : Notched one solo stop and assisted on two more in Falcs' defeat of San Diego.
Jed Collins, TE/FB, Cleveland, rookie: Declared inactive for the Browns loss to Indianapolis. With Cleveland quarterback Brady Quinn placed on injured reserve, the Browns filled his roster spot with Collins on Wednesday. He was released from the Chicago Bears practice squad two weeks ago. "Jedzilla" spent the first seven weeks of the season on the Philadelphia Eagles practice squad before being released and signed by the Bears.
Devard Darling, WR, Kansas City, 5th season : Caught one pass for 2 yards, awakening the echoes of Otis Taylor.
Jason David, CB, New Orleans, 5th season: No recorded stats from Saint's fall to Tampa Bay.
Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 2nd season : No recorded stats from Vikings' defeat of Chicago.
Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 17th season : His 53 yard first quarter field goal was the 40th kick of 50 or over yards of his career, tying Morten Anderson's NFL record. He also added an extra point in the Lions' latest loss. It was the Spokane native's seventh 50 or over FG of the season, one behind Anderson's season record of 8.
Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland, 3rd season : The Ghost is apparently still invisible to the Browns' coaching "brain" trust. He carried the ball just twice for six yards and was on the field for a total of 8 snaps. I've taken the liberty of faxing Romeo's resume to the UW.
Jason Hill, WR, San Francisco, 2nd season: Caught five passes for 55 yards in 49ers defeat of Buffalo. Also ran the ball once for negative 4 yards.
Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 9th season : Good news: The Vancouver native posted his fifth 100 point season of his career on Sunday. The bad news: he missed two of 3 field goal attempts, ending his NFL leading streak of 53 successful field goals of 40 yards and under. More bad news: despite that streak, despite the fact he's never missed an extra point--EVER, despite the fact he's the most accurate FG kicker in Bills' history, Buffalo "fans" still cursed him as he walked through the tunnel. (Could've been worse, they threw things at other players.)
Rob Meier, DE/DT, Jacksonville, 9th season: Posted one solo tackle in Jags' Monday night loss to Houston.
Karl Paymah, CB, Denver, 4th season : Tallied two solo tackles and assisted on another in Broncs' bustin' of the Jets.
Ropati Pitoitua, DT, New York Jets, rookie: Did not play; assigned to the Jets' practice squad.
Marcus Trufant, DB, Seattle, 6th season : Recorded four solo stops, 1 assist, and made his first interception of the season in Hawks' Thanksgiving day loss to Dallas.
Cory Withrow, C, St. Louis, 10th season : Declared inactive for the Rams' loss to Miami. He was signed by St. Louis on Tuesday, replacing starting center Nick Leckey on the roster. Leckey was placed on injured reserve with a broken foot. The Spokane native's tenth NFL season had been sidelined after suffering a hamstring injury with San Diego during training camp. The Chargers initially placed him on season-ending injury reserve before releasing him from his contract in October.
