Stanford offers, charges hard at WSU verbal

JIM HARBAUGH AND Stanford are making a strong play for one of Washington State's 2009 verbal commitments. The Cardinal called him and offered on Monday, have mentioned as many as five possibilities for which position he might end up at were he to come to Palo Alto, (two offense and three defense,) and are making a Stanford education the cornerstone of their recruiting sales pitch.

Lynnwood's Geoff Meinken, who verballed to Washington State in May, was offered by Stanford shortly after SU took in his Friday night game when in the Seattle area last weekend for their matchup with the Huskies. The 6-4, 250-pounder, who Washington State likes at either defensive end or defensive tackle, told Scout.com he hopes to take a visit to Stanford before Signing Day...
