A FORMER COUGAR keeps quietly proving to be one of the most consistent and reliable kickers in the NFL, while another WSU alum—who has found life in the Big Easy to be anything but—had a surprise return to the Saints’ starting lineup, today.

Here’s how all of the NFL Cougars performed in week four:

Hamza Abdullah, S, free agent, 4th season :Released by the Broncos early last week. He has cleared waivers and is now free to sign with any team. He started eight games for the Broncos in 2007, tallying a career-high 48 tackles 7 and pass breakups. He entered training camp as Denver’s starter and held the top spot through 3 preseason games before a groin injury sidelined him. He appeared only in week one this season, making a tackle against Oakland. He was declared inactive as a healthy scratch the following two contests.

Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, rookie:Assisted on two tackles in Vikings’ fall to Tennessee.

Mkristo Bruce, DE, Jacksonville, 2nd season:Did not play; assigned to practice squad.

Michael Bumpus, WR, Seattle, rookie: Did not play; bye week.

Erik Coleman, S, Atlanta, 5th season : Tallied four solo tackles, assisted on another, and defensed one pass in Falcs’ loss to Carolina.

Jed Collins, FB, Philidelphia, rookie: Did not play; assigned to practice squad.

Devard Darling, WR, Kansas City, 5th season : Posted one tackle in Chiefs’ defeat of Denver.

Jason David, CB, New Orleans, 5th season: Returned to the starting lineup and posted two solo stops and defensed one pass in Saints’ victory against San Frannie May.

Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 2nd season : No stats from Vikes’ loss to the Titans.

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 17th season : Did not play, bye week.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland, 3rd season : The Ghost carried the ball four times for 20 yards and caught one pass for another 5 in Browns’ defeat of the Bungles .

Jason Hill, WR, San Francisco, 2nd season: No stats from 49ers loss to New Orleans.

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 9th season : Was perfect on all three field goal attempts (from 45, 45, and 35 yards) and both PATs in the Bills’ downing of St. Loses. He has converted on 43 straight field goals of 40 yards or less and is tied with Atlanta’s Jason Elam for the longest such active streak.

Rob Meier, DE/DT, Jacksonville, 9th season: Posted two solo tackles in Jag’s overtime victory against Houston.

Karl Paymah, CB, Denver, 4th season : No stats from Broncos loss to KC.

Ropati Pitoitua, DT, New York Jets, rookie:Did not play; assigned to practice squad.

Marcus Trufant, DB, Seattle, 6th season : Did not play; bye week.
