BREAKING: 250-pounds in motion goes crimson


NOT MANY 250-POUNDERS are agile and fast enough to play tailback in high school -- plus compete in the 100 meter dash. But the newest Cougar does all that and more. He won't be playing running back at Wazzu but it was that kind of speed and athleticism that drew the Cougars to him. The Evergreen State standout becomes Washington State's first known verbal commitment of the 2009 class.

Lynnwood's Geoff Meinken came to the attention of WSU assistants Malik Roberson and Chris Ball during the May Evaluation period. An invitation to come out and unofficially visit Washington State soon followed. Meinken spent three days at Wazzu, and he loved the Palouse and the Washington State campus.
