Rochestie's career night paces Cougs

WASHINGTON STATE, in the words of head man Tony Bennett, came out flat against Oregon State. But a close game through a good portion of the first half turned into a comfortable 70-57 Cougar win as Taylor Rochestie logged career highs in points and 3-pointers while Derrick Low attacked the bucket to the tune of 21 points.
Rochestie
had a career high four 3-pointers -- three in the first half -- and scored a career high 24 points on Thursday in Corvallis as No. 20 WSU defeated Oregon State 70-57.
It was Rochestie's fifth career 20-plus point game, and fourth at WSU for the one-time Tulane transfer.
Low
broke out of a recent slump with 21 points, many of the buckets coming on drives he created off the dribble.
It was the fifth time this season Low had topped the 20-point mark, and the 10th of his Wazzu career.
Low and Rochestie are the first WSU teammates this season to score 20-plus points in the same game.
Kyle Weaver
had an off-night from the field, connecting on 1-of-6 and scoring five points. But he moved into ninth place in the WSU career record books for blocks with two against the Beavs. His 85 career swats moved him past
Ivory Clark
.
The Cougars head to heads to Eugene on Saturday to play Oregon. The Ducks have beaten the Cougs at McArthur Court 12 straight times. Oregon topped the UW 71-58 on Thursday night and is now 7-2 at home this season.
