FOR THE SECOND week in a row, a Washington State alum has earned NFL “player of the week” honors. Last week it was Buffalo’s Rian Lindell awarded the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his five field goal performance; this week the NFC Defensive Player of the Week honors went to Seahawk Marcus Trufant, who tallied three air-thefts against Arizona, returning one of those 84 yards for a TD.

Here’s how all of the NFL Cougars performed in week 14:

Hamza Abdullah, DB, Denver, 3rd season : Posted one solo stop and defensed one pass in Mile High’s 41-7 defeat of the Chiefs. Was poked in the eye during the second quarter and did not return. He should be ready to go for week 15’s contest.

Kyle Basler, P, Cleveland, 1st season: Did not play; on non-injury reserve.

Cody Boyd, TE, Washington, rookie : Did not play; assigned to practice squad.

Tyron Brackenridge, CB, Kansas City, rookie : Notched one solo tackle from his nickel back spot and another two on special teams in Chiefs fall to Denver. Suffered a knee injury and likely will not play in week 15’s tilt.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland, 2nd season : Carried the ball twice for 21 yards in Browns’ victory over Jets. Has rushed the ball 15 time for 110 yards this season, a 7.3 average per carry.

Jason Hill, WR, San Francisco, rookie: Declared inactive (hamstring) for week 14.
