FIVE TELEVISED GAMES for the Cougar Football season are now on the schedule, with Washington State announcing this afternoon the Sept. 15 football game vs. Idaho, will be televised on FSN NW. Game time is 7 p.m. Other early picks for broadcast are WSU-Wisconsin, WSU-USC, WSU-UCLA and WSU-Cal, while others could be chosen throughout the season, generally picked up either 12 or 6 days in advance.
“Having the Idaho game broadcast live throughout the Northwest is another opportunity to showcase our football program to fans and alumni throughout the region,” WSU Director of Athletics Jim Sterk said. “It is another indication that interest in Washington State football remains high, especially in combination with our previously announced television schedule.”
ABC/ESPN earlier announced in filling 13 of 20 windows for Pac-10 teams this season on its family of networks the selection of another primetime Cougar game, Washington State at USC, for Saturday, September 22. Kickoff in Los Angeles is scheduled for 5 pm PT.
The opener at Wisconsin will be on either ESPN or ESPN2, with a 12:30 pm PT start.
FSN will televise UCLA at
Washington State
on Saturday, October 27 at 3:30 pm PT. Also a preliminary pick by FSN is the WSU-Cal game Saturday, November 3. The Berkeley game is scheduled for primetime, with a 7 pm PT start.
Games will continue to be chosen for broadcast throughout the season by ABC/ESPN and Fox Sports, with the networks generally making their picks either 12 or 6 days in advance. Additionally, additional local broadcasts by Fox Sports Regional affiliates and selections on other networks such as VERSUS are also possibilities during the season. VERSUS is in effect taking over the Pac-10 broadcasts previously carried by TBS in recent years.
All games are subject to time change in order to accommodate television schedules.
