Special teams, defensive lapses doom Cougs

WASHINGTON STATE SPECIAL TEAMS committed two large miscues good for 14 Washington points and the defense surrendered another three 60 yard-plus scoring plays, two via the short pass and one on the ground. In the end, WSU could not sustain enough fourth quarter mojo to dig out of 11 point and then 10-point deficits as the Cougs fell to the Huskies in the Apple Cup, 35 - 32.
