Daytime is more of the same. I walk around campus with goose bumps just thinking of a sold out Martin Stadium. Then as soon as my feet leave the ground, our voluntary afternoon workouts hit me right in the mouth like a truck.
Imagine 98 degrees outside, and even hotter on the turf, for what feels like an eternity of running. Then, it's time to hit the weight room in full force and I love it. Everything balances itself out in a cycle and it's beautiful!
We have once again stepped the weight up, and we've also stepped up our running, to make sure the Cougs are those finely tuned athletes that are going to storm the field and play the "11 hats to the ball" style of Cougar football.
Some of you asked about who the guys are that attack the weights. While we are in the weight room, there are always those guys that go above and beyond, and there are always those guys that push you to become better. That guy for me is Jed Collins.
When I'm in the weight room, I go straight to Jed and he makes sure that I get that extra rep, and that extra weight. There are more guys like Jed this year, more guys pushing it. Guys like Tony Thompson, Aaron Johnson, Matt Mullennix, Scott Davis, Steve Dildine, Alex Brink, Tyron Brackenridge, Chris Jordan, Don Turner, and so many more that I can't mention them all. These guys make other guys better just by being around them.
Back to thinking about game day. Every single game that I've played in Martin Stadium, I have been greeted by the WSU marching band in the tunnel. It has been a ritual to go through and High-Five the whole band. From the High-Five before the game to the Cougar Chomp throughout the fourth quarter I would like to say thank you.
I've mentioned this before but I'll say it again. Every "GO COUGS"...every time that we hear "DA DA… DA DA.. DUN DUN DUN DUN DADADAAAA...", every time we see and feel the Coug Chomp, it gives us more gas in the tank and we thank you!
If you have any questions, post them on the Cougfan.com message boards and I'll do my best to answer as many as I can. Until the next time... We are, and still remain, the COUGAR NATION OF DOMINATION!
