TEN HIGH SCHOOL juniors from the state of Washington will be in San Antonio, Texas, this weekend to take part in a two-day combine featuring some 500 prep athletes from around the nation who are aiming to earn college football scholarships a year from now. The contingent from Washington consists of three running backs, two linemen, two receivers, two linebackers and one quarterback.

The combine is part of a power-packed weekend in San Antonio, the centerpiece of which is the U.S. Army All-American Bowl. The game features many of the top high school seniors who will be signing letters of intent next month. The game will be televised live Saturday on NBC.

As for the juniors, they’ll spend the better of Saturday and Sunday doing sprints, agility drills, bench presses and vertical jumps. They’ll be measured every way from height to wingspan.

The juniors from the state of Washington are headlined by well-decorated linebackers Isaac Bond, (6-2, 226) of Vancouver’s Skyview High and Adam Robinett (6-1, 225) of Orting.

Bond is a two-time Class 4A Greater St. Helens League pick and was an All-Region choice by the Vancouver Columbian this past fall. Also a standout in basketball, he has a vertical leap of 26 inches.

Robinett, meanwhile, led Orting to an 11-1 record in 2005 with 135 tackles (96 primary), including 23 in one game. He was named defensive MVP of the Class 2A Nisqually League Cascade Division. He also plays running back, and carried the ball 58 times for 265 yards and nine TDs in ‘05.

Both have recorded 40 times just north of 5 seconds -– something they’ll be eager to improve upon at the combine to boost their college stock.

The other Washingtonians who will be in San Antonio are:

QB Evan Mozzochi (6-3, 200) Columbia River High/Vancouver
Threw for 19 TDs and 1,852 yards in 2005, completing 106 of 210 attempts. Led team to 8-3 record.

RB Tobias Togi (6-0, 225), Evergreen High/Seattle
An All-Seamount League pick who averaged 7 yards per carry in 2005, rushing for 613 yards on 70 carries. Also plays linebacker.

RB Brandon Mezistrano (5-9, 170), Newport High/Bellevue
In two varsity seasons he has piled up 2,538 all-purpose yards, including 1,704 on the ground, and scored 23 TDs. Also plays defensive back and has picked off five balls over the last two seasons.

RB Undray Bailey (5-9, 167), Timberline High/Lacey
Rushed for more than 600 yards in 2005 as the Blazers went to a committee approach in the backfield to replace Jonathan Stewart. Has a 28-inch vertical jump.

OL Matt Cleveland (6-4, 295), Kentwood High/Covington
An honorable mention All-South Puget Sound League pick in 2005. Also plays on the defensive line.

OL Kevin Davis (6-4, 285), O’Dea High/Seattle
A first-team All-Metro Mountain Division choice at offensive tackle in 2005. Also plays defensive line.

WR Bobby Barnes (5-9, 154), Timberline High/Lacey
Athletic with good wheels (has been timed at 4.75 in the 40), he also plays cornerback.

WR Terrence Williams (5-9, 167), Timberline High/Lacey
Decent speed (4.89) and eye-popping hops (35-inch vertical leap).
