NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Fifteen
Despite being hampered by a hamstring earlier this season—and playing on a tweaked ankle recently—Ivory is on pace to have the most productive season of his four year career. With two weeks remaining he sits just 11 yards shy of equaling his season best of 716 yards rushing, set as a rookie in 2010 with the New Orleans Saints.
The Jets' loss to Carolina on Sunday gives them a 6-8 record for the season. Although not officially out of the playoff hunt, a Baltimore victory against Detroit Monday night would formalize their inevitable exclusion from post-season play.
NOT SO FOR Husain Abdullah and the Kansas City Chiefs, however. Their 56-31 victory against Oakland on Sunday clinched a playoff spot. At 11-3, they're tied with Denver for first place in the AFC West, but will need help to win the division, as the Broncos swept them this season.
Here's how the NFL Cougs performed in week 15:
Husain Abdullah, CB, Kansas City, 5th season: Recovered a fumble and posted a solo tackle on special teams in the Chiefs' 56-31 defeat of Oakland.
Jed Collins, FB, New Orleans, 5th season: Did not run the ball and was targeted for just one pass in the Saints' 27-16 loss to St. Louis. Recorded two solo tackles on special teams.
Brandon Gibson, WR, Miami, 5th season: Did not play; out for the season on injured reserve due to a torn patella suffered in week 8.
Chris Ivory, RB, New York Jets, 4th season: Carried the ball 11 times for 66 yards in the Jets' 30-20 loss to Carolina. No receptions, but targeted once.
Rian Lindell, K, Tampa Bay, 14th season: The Vancouver native had no field goal attempts, but was true on two extra point attempts in the Bucs' 33-14 loss to San Fransicso.
Travis Long, LB, Philadelphia, 1st year: Did not play; assigned to the Eagles' practice squad.
Ropati Pitoitua, DE, Tennessee, 5th season: The Tacoma native tallied one solo tackle in the Titans' 37-34 overtime loss to Arizona.
Jeff Tuel, QB, Buffalo, Rookie: Declared inactive for the Bills' 27-20 wina against Jacksonville.
Marquess Wilson, WR, Chicago, Rookie: No recorded stats from the Bears' 38-31 win against Cincinnati.
