Steve Gleason, who has refused to slow down since being disagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), tweeted that earlier this year.
And in Monday's SI guest column, he writes that he navigates his computer -- typing, texting, creating and playing music, keeping a calendar, taking part in conference calls, leading web X meetings -- all with his eyes.
"I can crank out about 20 words per minute. For 4,500 words, that's almost four hours to finish this column," he says.
