NFL Cougar Highlights: Week Eleven

GIBSON celebrates first of two TDs

USUALLY A STAT line of three catches for 9 yards would indicate a poor outing for a receiver. But when two of those grabs are touchdown catches—as they were for Brandon Gibson on Sunday—those numbers don't look so bad, after all.

Gibson, the Washington State great, scored for St. Louis on catches from one and two yards out. Alas, those touchdowns were it for the Rams, 27-13 losers to the New York Jets.

Here's how the NFL Cougs performed in week 11:

Erik Coleman, S, Detroit, 9th season: The Spokane native posted one solo tackle in the Lions' 24-20 loss to Green Bay. Was listed as a probable on game-day due to an eye injury suffered in week 10.

Jed Collins, FB, New Orleans, 4th season: Caught two passes for 21 yards in the Saints' 38-17 defeat of Oakland.

Eric Frampton, S, Dallas, 6th season: Recorded one solo tackle on defense and another solo stop on special teams in the Cowboys' 23-20 overtime win against Cleveland.

Brandon Gibson, WR, St. Louis, 4th season: The Puyallup native caught just three passes for 9 yards, but two of those grabs were touchdowns. The Rams fell to the Jets, 27-13.

Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 21st season: The Spokane native was perfect on a pair of field goal tries (long of 30) and two extra-points in the Lions' loss to the Packers.

Jerome Harrison, RB, Detroit, 7th season: Did not play; officially listed on the Lions' reserve/non-football injury list.

Jason Hill, WR, New York Jets, 6th season:No recorded stats from the Jets' victory against St. Louis.

Chris Ivory, RB, New Orleans, 3rd season: Rushed eight times for 37 yards in the Saints' victory against the Raiders.

Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 13th season: The Vancouver native accounted for 13 of the Bills' points in their 19-14 victory against Miami on Thursday. He was true on four field goal attempts (long of 42) and one extra-point.

Ropati Pitoitua, DE, Kansas City, 4th season: The Tacoma native posted two solo stops in the Chiefs' 28-6 loss to Cincinnati.

Marcus Trufant, DB, Seattle, 10th season: Did not play; bye week.

Zack Williams, G, Carolina, 2nd season: Did not play; assigned to Panthers' practice squad. Recommended Stories
