Class of 2013
Lynden (Wash.) High
6'6", 290lbs/ Offensive Tackle, Defensive Tackle
Recruiting: Committed to Washington State.
Lynden (Wash.) offensive lineman and Washington State commit Matt Meyer was impressive against Sultan. The 6'6" 290lbs prospect is an exceptional athlete. Meyer moves very well for a player his size and has the flexibility to play at the college level. Meyer carries his weight very well and his frame has room to add more. He has not maxed his body out and should be able to add significant strength in a college weight program.
If there was one critique of Meyer during the game it would be his finishing. Meyer dominated inferior competition all night ling and successfully made his blocks, but he didn't punish his opponents like he could have. I would like to see a little more of a mean streak in him. Meyer has a good ceiling and should be able to play either guard or tackle in college, with guard being the more natural position. I would expect him to move up significantly in the next major rankings update.
