LB pledge weighs in on WSU post-visit
"My commitment always has been a strong commitment, it's strong and I like the Cougars a lot," said McLennan.
The statement issued by Marquess Wilson alleging abuse was a topic of discussion this weekend.
"I found out about the allegations two days ago," said McLennan. "But I was there this weekend and I talked with the coaches. So I understand the situation and what's going on.
"I really like the coaching staff there, I respect everyone there and they're all really good people."
McLENNAN SAID he spent the most time talking with coaches Paul Volero and Mike Breske but that he also had solid face time with Mike Leach and the rest of the staff.
"The highlight for me was the game, it started off rocky but in the second half Washington State -- we scored like 28 points so it ended up close and we came back. We showed some fight," said McLennan.
McLennan, a strong candidate to play the BUCK linebacker position at Wazzu, said the facilities and a talk with Athletic Director Bill Moos also made it a good weekend.
"The situation at Washington State, they're doing some fascinating things. I liked it a lot," said McLennan. "They're really trying to build a great football program and they're working on improving their football program… the facilities like the Football Operations Building really caught my eye.
"They support their student-athletes."
On the season for El Camino, McLennan has 79 tackles, 1.5 sacks, one interception and one forced fumble for the Warriors. As a freshman in 2011, he had 77 tackles, 10.5 tackles for loss, three sacks, one interception and three fumble recoveries en route to earning All-Conference honors.
