WALK-ON GUARD Chuks Iroegbu plans to transfer and has left Pullman. The freshman from Elk Grove, Calif., redshirted this past season. Meanwhile, one site says Washington State might have the best staff room in the country after a video interview; Marquess Wilson makes the list and more.
Both
DaVonté Lacy
and
D.J. Shelton
tweeted their goodbyes online to
Iroegbu
in the last 24 hours. Washington State has not issued any information on the departure.
THE COACHING MOVEMENT
site footballscoop.com has a video interview with WSU offensive line coach
Clay McGuire
.
"Watch the video, we think you will agree, this has to be one of the top staff rooms in the country," the site says of
Mike Leach
's group at Washington State.

WASHINGTON STATE SITS
in third place and first in the Pac-12 in the voting to bring ESPN College Game Day to a college campus for a commercial shoot.
At last check, WSU had 17,059 votes. Texas A&M (29,047) and Nebraska (28,109) were in the 1-2 spots. Fans can vote once a day, through their Facebook pages.
WSU has been trying to bring College Gameday to Pullman on Saturdays in the fall for nearly a decade. In a movement that was born on the Cougfan.com message boards, and still continues to this day, the Ol’ Crimson Booster Club has flown the Cougar flag on every Gameday pregame show since 2003. CF.C Managing Editor Emeritus John Witter has sat on the 'Ol Crimson Board since its inception, as has John Bley, the son of Cougar football legend, Johnny Bley.
Fans can -- again, once a day -- click to

to cast their votes. Voting ends May 10.
THE 2012 NFL DRAFT
had barely concluded but thoughts have already turned to next April's 2013 draft. And
Marquess Wilson
has made at least one early list.
Jon Wilner at the
Mercury News
pegs the Cougar WR as the No. 6 ranked player available in the Pac-12. "We'll pause while readers digest the notion that WSU has a first-round talent," writes Wilner.
Wilson will be a junior this season, so entering the 2013 draft would mean he'd be leaving WSU early.
Jeff Tuel
, Wilner writes, just missed his Top 12 list, along with Oregon RB
Kenjon Barner
, Oregon safety
John Boyett
, USC DE
Wes Horton
and Stanford LB
Shayne Skov

IN OTHER WSU
basketball news, former Washington State basketball player
Alex Kirk
has been named head men’s basketball coach at Clark (junior) College in Vancouver, Wash. Kirk played in four games as a walk-on at WSU in 2004-05. A knee injury cut short his career and led to him working as director of basketball operations at Portland.
Kirk is just 26 years old and has only one year of school head coaching experience. Last season, he guided King’s Way Christian to an 18-9 record and a berth in the State 1B tournament.
Clark fired coach Mike Arnold after a 25-4 season and an appearance in the Northwest Athletic Association of Community Colleges tournament. Only two players are expected to return.
KANSAS RELEASED
information regarding their upcoming basketball season, noting that Washington State will playing in the CBE Classic on Nov. 19-20 at Sprint Center in Kansas City, Mo.
The Cougs' participation in the two-day tourney had been previously announced
back in early March
.
Other schools in the tournament include St. Louis and Texas A&M. No match-ups have yet been set but there's some early chatter about a WSU-KU matchup in the first round.
