Moos books home-&-homes with Boise State, BYU

TRADITIONALLY, WASHINGTON STATE has found it difficult to lure big-name football opponents to Pullman for non-conference games. Bill Moos is big on tradition at WSU, but the Cougars athletic director is determined to change tradition when it comes to football scheduling.
Moos
announced Monday that
Washington State
has finalized agreements on home-and-home games with
Boise State
and Brigham Young. A similar deal with
Wisconsin
was announced previously.
BYU
visits Washington State in 2013, followed by Wisconsin in 2014 and Boise State in 2017.
The Cougars play at BYU next year, travel to Wisconsin in 2015 and visit Boise State in 2016.
Moos said he’s also engaged in “preliminary” talks with such schools as Nebraska, Michigan State and Texas A&M about playing home-and-home dates.
“They don’t have any problem with playing us at Pullman,” Moos said.
WSU’s Martin Stadium will add premium seats and suites for the 2012 season. The Pac-12’s lucrative new television contracts, which take effect next school year, will significantly boost WSU’s athletic budget.
After a one-year hiatus, the Cougars resume playing their “annual” home game at Seattle’s CenturyLink Field when they face Oregon State on Saturday (ROOT, 7:30 p.m.). More than 41,000 tickets have been sold, which is approximately 9,000 more than WSU has sold for any game in Pullman the past four seasons.
In other WSU football news, the Cougars announced Monday that their Oct. 29 game at ninth-ranked Oregon will be televised nationally on ROOT Sports/Fox Sports Net at noon.
