Coug walk-on 'real deal', and Defensive MVP
Releford had two sacks, forced a fumble and was in on several tackles according to published reports. (He was described in a post game report as an athletic 6-2, 235-pounder but The Seattle Times and Scout.com listed his weight at 270 pounds this season.)
In any event, Releford led an East defense that held the West to just 155 total yards.
He has accepted a preferred walk-on invitation to play at Washington State according to the Seattle Times and Spokesman-Review.
"He's the real deal," said Ferris High coach Jim Sharkey, who coached the East squad. "The Cougs got a steal there."
Releford was named co-defensive lineman of the year in the SPSL 3A, and first team all-state by the Associated Press and Scout.com. He is also an accomplished wrestler.
