WSU redshirts could play huge roles in '11-12


PULLMAN -- They sweat and grind and bang their way through every practice, every conditioning drill, every weights session. Then Mike Ladd and Dexter Kernich-Drew head to the sidelines and hope for the best for their Washington State teammates.

Ladd, a junior transfer from Fresno State, and Kernich-Drew, a freshman from Australia, are redshirting this season. Both are wing-type players, and they could play huge roles in WSU's fortunes next season, particularly if Klay Thompson passes up his senior season to turn pro.
