BUFFALO KICKER Rian Lindell did all he could to secure the Bills first win of the season, booting a 50-yard field goal to tie Baltimore with 4 seconds remaining in regulation on Sunday. The Washington State alum’s elation was short-lived, however.

Alas, it was Ravens kicker Billy Cundiff being carried off the field after kicking the game-winning three-pointer in overtime.

It was Lindell’s eighteenth field goal of 50 yard or more in his 11-year career. Fellow WSU alum Jason Hanson holds the all-time NFL record with 42 career three-pointers from 50 yards and beyond.

ONE WEEK after officially being demoted, Atlanta safety Erik Coleman was facing a Sunday in the unfamiliar role of special teams player, but a first quarter injury to Thomas DeCoud brought him back to the Falcons’ first unit defense.

Coleman finished second among Atlanta defenders with nine total tackles.

Here’s how the NFL Cougs performed in week seven :

Hamza Abdullah, S, Arizona, 6th season: Declared inactive for the Cardinals’ 22-10 loss to Seattle.

Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, 3rd season: No recorded stats from the Vikings’ 28-24 loss to Green Bay.

Tyron Brackenridge, CB, Jacksonville, 4th season: Posted one solo tackle and one special teams tackle in the Jags’ 42-20 fall to Kansas City.
