Future WSU quarterback looking A-OK

CODY CLEMENTS

Last night, Clements was 17-of-27 for 216 yards, no INTs and one TD in a 35-17 non-league loss to potent St. John Bosco.

A week ago, in his return from the knee injury that put him down in LaHabra's season opener he fired for 335 yards and 4 TDs. Three of those TD passes went long distance -- 80, 61 and 47 yards.

Clements is the No. 73-ranked prep QB prospect in the nation. He had reconstructive surgery on his right knee two years ago and then injured the same knee in the season opener against Orange Lutheran. Clements went down late in the fourth quarter of that game, but not until completing 21 of 29 passes for 248 yards and one TD plus one rushing TD.

Last season he threw for 2,150 yards on 120-of-191 accuracy with 29 TDs and five INTs.

Last week, a in win over Lewis and Clark, Sankey rushed for 316 yards and 4 TDs on 23 carries. He is on pace to shatter the GSL single-season rushing record and perhaps the state record as well. 316 23 4
