Cougar receiving great Devard Darling—a five year NFL veteran—shone in his UFL debut with Omaha on Friday, catching 5 passes for 48 yards-- including a touchdown grab--in the Nighthawks’ 27-26 win against Hartford.
Here’s how the NFL Cougs performed in week three:
Hamza Abdullah, S, Arizona, 6th season: Declared inactive (hamstring) for the Cardinals’ 24-23 victory against Oakland.
Husain Abdullah, S, Minnesota, 3rd season: Tallied five tackles (3 solo) in Vikings’ 24-10 defeat of Detroit.
Tyron Brackenridge, CB, Jacksonville, 4th season: Posted one special teams stop in the Jags’ loss to Philadelphia.
Erik Coleman, S, Atlanta, 7th season: The Spokane native was declared inactive (bum knee) for the Falcons’ 27-24 win against New Orleans.
Eric Frampton, S, Minnesota, 4th season: Recorded one special teams tackle in Vikings defeat of the Lions.
Brandon Gibson, WR, St. Louis, 2nd season: Seeing his first action of the season, the Pride of Puyallup caught three passes for 33 yards in the Rams’ 30-16 takedown of Washington.
Jason Hanson, K, Detroit, 19th season: Connected on one field goal and one extra-point, but missed a try from 44 yards in the Lions’ loss to Minnesota.
Jerome Harrison, RB, Cleveland, 5th season: Declared inactive with a lingering thigh injury for the Browns’ 24-17 fall to Baltimore. More bad news for the Ghost: his “replacement”—Peyton Hillis—rushed for 144 yards on 22 carries.
Jason Hill, WR, San Francisco, 4th season : Declared inactive for the 0-3 49ers’ loss to Kansas City.
Chris Ivory, RB, New Orleans, rookie:: Playing his first professional game after being slowed by a MCL strain late in preseason, he carried the ball seven times for 13 times, fumbling once.
Rian Lindell, K, Buffalo, 11th season: The Vancouver, Wash. native tallied 12 points (3 field goals and 3 extra-points) in the Bills’ loss to New England. Missed a 3-pointer from 51 yards.
Ropati Pitoitua, DE, New York Jets, 2nd season: Did not play; out for the season on injured reserve (achilles).
Marcus Trufant, DB, Seattle, 8th season: The Tacoma native posted three solo stops in the Seahawks 27-20 victory against San Diego, but left the game in the third quarter with an ankle injury and did not return.
